This item was first created for a friend at work. She knew she was having a baby boy and his name was to be Christian. She asked for a Celtic design with cables.
The construction is from the center out and knit in the round increasing on each corner of the four sides to make a square. This allowed me to use up every last stitch of yarn I could to get a pretty blanket. It contains a large central cable that is mirrored on each quarter to add to the delicate pattern.
